Paulo Avelino gives up leading role in 'Temptation Island'

"Alakdana" star Paulo Avelino will no longer be one of the leading men in the Regal Films remake of the cult classic "Temptation Island."
"Because (Paulo Avelino) fell ill and is still recuperating, he had no choice but to give up hisleading man role in 'Temptation Island'," Leo Dominguez, Paulo's manager, said on his Twitter account earlier on Friday, April 15.
A Yahoo! OMG! Philippines source confirmed the tweet. According to Lendl Fabella of Regal Films, Paulo is currently in the hospital due topneumonia and was advised by his doctor to rest, adding that he's not fit to shoot in Ilocos.
Mikael Daez, Marian Rivera's leading man in the upcoming Kapuso show "Amaya," will replace Paulo.
Mikael joins Tom Rodriguez and Aljur Abrenica as the main male cast members of the movie.
